Five Hiking Routes in Mallorca

Biniaraix Ravine Route

The Biniaraix Ravine Route is an impressive example of the dry-stone technique in Mallorca and has been declared an asset of cultural interest due to its historical and scenic value. This path follows the gorge of the torrent, ascending some 700 metres in a route that, although challenging in terms of elevation, is easy to follow. The scenery is spectacular, with cobbled paths, the meandering torrent, stone terraces, olive groves and panoramic views.

Route from the Ermita de la Victoria Chapel to Talaia de Alcudia

Near Alcudia, on the peninsula of La Victoria, you will find a beautiful hiking route from the Ermita de La Victoria to the top of the Talaia de Alcudia. This route is relatively easy and well signposted, making it perfect for hikers of all levels. From the top of the Talaia de Alcudia, you will enjoy spectacular views of the bay of Pollensa, the bay of Alcudia, Formentor and part of the Tramuntana mountain range, and on clear days you can even catch a glimpse of the coast of Menorca.

Route to Puig de Galatzo from Estellencs

In the southern part of the Tramuntana mountain range is the imposing Puig de Galatzo, which rises 1026 metres above sea level. The best hiking route to reach its summit starts from Estellencs and takes approximately 5 hours, covering some 12 kilometres. Although the mountain is imposing, the ascent to Puig de Galatzo is mostly moderate, except for some final stretches that require caution due to small climbs.

Route of Torrent de Pareis

The Torrent de Pareis is a unique hiking route in Mallorca that is only recommended for experienced mountaineers. The best time to undertake this excursion is during the summer, from June to September, when the riverbed of the torrent is dry and more accessible. The route starts at the restaurant in Escorca and takes you through a spectacular gorge, where you will cross large rocks, pools of water and challenging steps for almost 4 kilometres until you reach the impressive cove of Sa Calobra, where the Torrent de Pareis flows into the sea.

Route to Alaro Castle

From the beautiful valley of Orient, one of the best hiking routes in Mallorca begins, which takes you to the ancient castle of Alaro. This route is mostly comfortable, with the exception of a steep final climb, and follows partially paved paths. At the top, you will have the opportunity to explore the ruins of the castle, visit the ancient oratory, enjoy panoramic views and get close to the cave of Sant Antoni. We recommend starting the route from Orient to enjoy the beautiful valley and the path through olive groves.
